Sophia’s Art Gallery My Artist Statement My name is Sophia and this is some of my middle school artwork. I have always enjoyed fantasy so I chose a dragon as the main theme for my Oil Painting, gif, and some of my drawings. There is an “easter egg” in my painting*.

My Oil Painting Process |
Process Pictures |
My first steps for creating my oil painting were cutting the wood and gluing the frame. |
Next, I stapled the canvas to the frame then put water on the back tighten the canvas. |
After that, I started my Imprimatura. The Imprimatura is like a sketch for a painting but using burnt umber pigment and thinner. |
When the Imprimatura was completed, I started painting. |
The Final Product *The smallest planet is the Death Star. The lines in the Death Star were painted with a barrette. |
